Elizabeth Heyl Ostien

Elizabeth Heyl was born in 1835 in Odenback, Bavaria (Germany).   In 1859 she married Jacob Ostien in Obermoshel, Germany.   They left Hamburg in April of 1866 aboard the ship Teutonia with their four children, and arrived in the port of New York in the United States.

Elizabeth and Jacob apparently followed Jacob's brothers Henry and Frederick and lived in the Pittsburgh area. While Jacob died in 1875 at age 48, Elizabeth went on to live until 1920 when she died in Pittsburgh at age 85.

Jacob and Elizabeth had eight children.
