one Dennis Cramton of Guilford, CT, in 1656... He seems to have come or
was brought to CT as a boy in 1636, by a ship Captain, who sold his time
to pay his passage to the Colonies, so he became a bound boy... Dennis
Cramton signed the Freemans Oath following a session of the General
Assembly, on May 11, 1665, at Guilford, CT... He afterwards became a man
of considerable wealth and property and of some distinction in the
plantation, as at one time he owned a thousand acres of land..."
